Crossing the Chasm: Lessons in Selling Change

from $125.00

Course Description:

This course is about one of the most important models for change leadership: the Innovation Diffusion Curve and “the chasm” within it.

Who Should Take This Course:

  • This course is for anyone who wants to implement a change in their school or system. These are “zero to one” problems, meaning you’re trying to activate something brand new.

  • There are no prerequisites for this course.

What will you walk away with?

The asset you will build through this course is “A Chasm Map,” which will include:

  • Definition of the change you want to “sell”

  • Annotated Innovation Diffusion Curve (ie, names of stakeholders who can influence the “purchase” and “implementation” of the change)

  • Moves to de-risk change for visionaries and pragmatists

  • Reverse press release and FAQ

The skills you will develop through this course include the ability to:

  • Articulate the essential characteristics of the Innovation Diffusion Curve

  • Identify “visionary” and “pragmatist” psychographics in the real world

  • Pressure test your innovations

Participants will receive:

  • A workbook in which they build their “chasm model” to help them design a change strategy.

  • Access to all course materials.

  • Guidance from an expert facilitator.

Workshop Breakdown:

  • Topic 1: What change do you want to sell?

  • Topic 2: Why psychographics matter more than demographics

  • Topic 3: Find the visionary with decision rights

  • Topic 4: When It Comes to Decisions, why emotion matter more than reason

  • Topic 5: Beware the Over-ambitious Visionary

  • Topic 6: Falling into the chasm

  • Topic 7: Marketing to Visionaries

Time Commitment: Estimated time to completion is 2 hours.

Certificate of Completion or Digital Badge/Certification: Upon successful completion of this workshop, participants will receive a certificate in “Crossing the Chasm.” This digital certificate links to a webpage outlining the learning outcomes covered in the workshop. You can display your certificates on LinkedIn or your CV.
